メーガン妃が友人で映画監督であるミサン・ハリマンの作品上映会のトークイベントに登場。その際の茶色のスーツ姿が話題となった。
というのもメーガン妃は「世界メンタルヘルスデー」のシンポジウムではエレガントなオフショルダーを選択し、「インヴィクタス・ゲーム」ではカジュアルな服装というように、パンツスーツ姿は珍しいからだ。

一方、特に皇太子妃になって以降、義理の姉であるキャサリン妃が公務でスーツを着用することが顕著に増えている。そのため、キャサリン妃を意識しているのではないかという声も。

スーツで真摯さを示す。──今回、メーガン妃がきりっとしたパンツスーツ姿で登場した背景には、トークイベントの内容の邪魔にならないように華やかさを抑えただけでなく、友人で王室伝記作家オミッド・スコビーによる『エンドゲーム』の出版でメーガン妃とヘンリー王子の印象がさらに悪くなっているため、慈善活動への真摯な姿勢を見せる目的があったのではないかとみられている。
