主観であることの物憂い——Norma Aratani 初のzine作品

Norma Arataniの作品には、主観であることの物憂いが鮮烈なまでに付きまとう。

陰影、地平、砂岩、木立、湿度、色彩、動作、低音、微笑. . .彼女の目にとってそれらに差異はなく、また相容れもしない。

それは鑑賞者にどんな意味を与えるだろう。

彼女はあなたに議論を持ちかけてるのかもしれない。
あるいは共謀を求めているのかもしれない。
21世紀の命題のひとつである“現象判断の矛盾”、それに対する答えかもしれない。

これはフィルムに書き込まれた詩篇。

東京を拠点にする写真家。
フィルムカメラを使用し、アーティスト写真やルックブックなどを手がける。また自身が渇望している映画のスチール撮影も撮り始め、先日公開された仏映画監督Julien Levyによるショートフィルム“THINGS TO SCREAM AT THE SUN”に参加している。

It is Norma Aratani’s vague melancholia as a subjective, that is vividly attached to her photography.

To her eyes, the shades, the horizon, the sandstone, humidity, colors, moves, bass, grove of trees, a smile, is all the same, though incompatible at the same time.

What is it that we should receive from her?

Maybe she is approaching us with an argument,
or she could be demanding us a conspiracy.
Or maybe, she is giving us the answer to the biggest proposition of this century “The Paradox of phenomenal judgment and causality”.
