第一回『マダガスカル・フェスティバル』開催

The 1st Madagascar Festival in Japan

2015年10月25日（日）、日本で初めてとなる『マダガスカル・フェスティバル』が開催されます。日本の皆様にマダガスカルという国を知っていただき、その文化について理解を深めていただくことを目的としています。マダガスカルのグルメや物産、音楽、ダンス、ファッションなどをお楽しみいただけます。

第一回『マダガスカル・フェスティバル』の開催について

2015年10月25日（日）、在日マダガスカル共和国大使館は、東京都港区の有栖川宮記念公園にて日本で初めての『マダガスカル・フェスティバル』を開催することとなりました（10時から16時30分）。日本やそのほか外国の皆様にマダガスカルという国を知っていただき、その文化について理解を深めていただくことを目的としています。

独立行政法人国際協力機構（JICA）や南部アフリカ地域観光機構（RETOSA）の調査によって、マダガスカルは日本人観光客が南部アフリカ開発共同体（SADC）地域でもっとも訪れたいと考えている国のひとつだということが判明しました（O.R. Tambo Airport Survey 2015）。そこで、ロゼット・ラソアマナリヴォが臨時代理大使を務める在日マダガスカル大使館は、マダガスカルと日本との関係強化のため『マダガスカル・フェスティバル2015』を開催することとし、日本そして世界の皆様に、マダガスカルについて新しい視点、さらに広い視野を持っていただく機会としたいと考えています。

マダガスカルにとって55回目の独立記念日となった2015年6月26日、ジャパン・タイムズ紙に「大きな島」と称されるこの国には高い将来性があるとの記事が掲載されました。『マダガスカル・フェスティバル2015』のねらいは、マダガスカルのすばらしさ、豊かさを知っていただくことと同時に、マダガスカル製品の販売促進のための新たな市場を開拓することにもあります。

この目標を達成するため、在日マダガスカル人、マダガスカル関連各団体、そして港区がフェスティバルの開催に向けて協力提携しています。来場者の皆様には、この催しのためにマダガスカルから来日する著名シェフ、マリウス・フィアカラナのマダガスカル料理や、デザイナー、ステラ・モードによるマダガスカルのファッション・ショーをお楽しみいただけます。15のスタンドでは様々な情報やマダガスカルの手工芸品などの展示・販売が行われます。会場に一日いるだけでマダガスカルへの小旅行気分が味わえることでしょう。

『マダガスカル・フェスティバル』はマダガスカル政府の経済外交政策の一環として行われ、経済や観光分野での反響が期待されます。

The 1st Madagascar Festival in Japan

The Embassy of Madagascar in Japan will organize the first “Madagascar Festival” on October 25th, 2015 at Arisugawa No-Miya Memorial Park Tokyo. Visitors can come from 10:00 to discover Madagascar and its culture.

A study led by JICA and RETOSA (Regional Tourism Organization of Southern Africa) has shown that Madagascar was one of the destinations that Japanese tourists would like to visit in the SADC region (Southern African Development Community) (Source OR Tambo Airport Survey 2015).

In this regards, the Embassy of Madagascar in Japan, led by the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Ms Rosette Rasoamanarivo, took the initiative to organize Madagascar Festival to strengthen the link between Madagascar and Japan, as it was time for the Japanese public and the world to have a new and expanded look on Madagascar.

As The Japan Times noted on June 26, 2015, day of the 55th years of independence for Madagascar, “A bright future lies ahead as promising Madagascar is taking off”, so "Madagascar Festival 2015" will aim to make known the wonders and riches of Madagascar and Malagasy products to highlight to potential new markets.

In fact, a great mobilization of the Malagasy diaspora in Japan, Associations and Organizations close to Madagascar and especially the Minato City Hall made this event possible. The public will have the pleasure to discover Malagasy food culture, as Malagasy clothing culture with visit from Chef Marius Fiakarana and Designer Stel à Mod, who came especially from Madagascar for the event. The 15 booths at the event will present a diversity of information and products from Madagascar and will give the opportunity to the visitors to touch, to acquire or to taste it, an extraordinary one-day trip to Madagascar.

In conclusion, "Madagascar Festival" is a part of the Economic Diplomacy of the Malagasy Government with Economic and Tourism benefit expectation.
