　今回のグリーンボンドの発行は、ジョンソンコントロールズにとってサスティナビリティ推進に向けた資金調達プロジェクトの第2弾で、当社は2019年に、米国のシンジケートローン市場において、特定のサスティナビリティ指標をシニアリボルビングファシリティ（優先的回転与信枠）と結びつけた初の事業会社の1つです。

　ジョンソンコントロールズが調達資金を投じる対象となるグリーンプロジェクトの詳細については、国際資本市場協会（ICMA）が発行するグリーンボンド原則2018とグリーンローン原則2020の両方が規定する4要素に沿って作成された、同社のグリーンファイナンス・フレームワークに記述されています。グリーンプロジェクトは地球環境保護を促進し、国連の持続可能な開発目標（SDGs）実現にもつながります。

対象となるグリーンプロジェクトには、以下のカテゴリーが含まれます：

・環境効率や循環型経済を採用した製品や生産技術およびプロセス
・グリーンビル
・公害の防止
・持続可能な上下水道管理
・ 排気ガス抑制によるクリーン交通
・再生可能エネルギー

　ジョンソンコントロールズのグリーンファイナンス・フレームワークは、サスティナリティクス社 より第三者認証機関によるオピニオンを取得しています。

　ジョンソンコントロールズの2025年サスティナビリティ目標には、以下が含まれます。

・エネルギー強度25%削減
・水が重要な地域での水使用量の10％削減
・ 労働災害25%削減

　グリーンボンドの発行にあたっては、ジョンソンコントロールズの子会社であるTyco Fire & Security Finance, S.C.A.が共同発行体となります。本取引は、所定の慣習的取引条件を満たしたうえで、2020年9月11日に完了する見通しです。
