非規範的な人間関係における気持ちのコミュニケーションについて考える。“feels good to know you exist exhibition and events”

脱衣所にてCleo Verstrepenがキュレーションを手がけた“feels good to know you exist”が開催。





「君が存在してると思うだけでホッとする」
ある友人にこのような言葉をかけられたことがあります。「好きだよ」とか「寂しくなるよ」とか「元気でね」と言うような瞬間に、独自の表現を編み出したのです。それは少しぎこちなく、同時にとてもしっくりきて、深く心に刻まれました。既存の愛の言葉やしぐさが私たちの感情を掴みきれない時、どんな言語を創りだせるでしょうか？
“feels good to know you exist”は非規範的な人間関係における気持ちのコミュニケーションについて考えるものです。それはジェンダー的、性 的、ロマンチックな慣習に疑問を呈すことで、親密な感情を抱いて生きる上での新しいクリエイティブな方法を探求するものです。それはどこかたどたどしく探りながらも開放的に、新たな感情的言語の構築を思索するも のです。言葉だけではなく、身振り、物、視線、祈りや食べ物など、愛という不思議な感情を翻訳する、ありとあらゆる生き物と非生物の言語。 クィアな親密さの核をなすそれらを通して、静かな革命が起こっていて、私達のアイデンティティに揺さぶりをかけています。
私達の弱さを打ち明けられる場所、そして訪れてくれる人の弱さにも繋がれるような場所として「脱衣所」というスペースを立ち上げました。ここではずだ袋の中身のように、既存のものとは違う愛や友情の物語を示しています。それらは遊び心と思慮に富んでいて、誤字だらけだったり、多分英雄的ではなかったりするけれど、政治性は妥協していないものです。それらを素手のまま、ゆっくり時間をかけて体験してみてください。そしてよければネイルをしたり、私達と一緒にお茶を飲んだりしていってください。

“feels good to know you exist”. These words, or something close to them, were once said to me by a friend. In a moment when "I love you," "I am going to miss you," or "Take care" would have usually been used, they made up their own formula. It sounded a bit clumsy and, at the same time, so right that it deeply marked me. When the pre-existing words and gestures of love no longer embrace our feelings, what language can we invent?
“feels good to know you exist” reflects on the communication of emotions in the context of non-normative relationships. It explores how the questioning of gender, sexual or romantic conventions opens up new, creative ways of transcribing and living intimate feelings. It speculates on the construction of an alternative emotional language, somewhat stumbly and fumbly, a bit uncertain, but liberating. A language that wouldn’t be just made of words but also of gestures, objects, gazes, prayers, or food – of all the living and non-living entities which translate this strange feeling called love. Through them, nestled in the heart of our queer intimacies, a discreet revolution is taking place and disrupting our identities.
We made Datsuijo a space for our vulnerabilities to come out, hoping they can touch yours. Like out of the Carrier Bag, we have displayed here some alternative stories of love and friendship. They are playful and thoughtful, full of spelling mistakes, probably not heroic, but no less political. We invite you to go through it with bare hands, take your time, perhaps sit with us for a drink or get your nails painted if you wish.
