課題と背景


アビリカは1959年の創立以来、FA（ファクトリーオートメーション）設計のエキスパートとして、生産設備のみならず、プラント設備、自動車、半導体、医療機器、昇降機など幅広い領域への設備設計や開発技術をグローバルに提供しています。近年は自社開発にも力を入れており、「獺祭」にも使用されている日本酒瓶の飾りを自動化する装置の開発を行うなど新たな取り組みも行っています。

アビリカでは、製造業での急速な技術革新によるニーズの多様化に伴い、生産性の向上が喫緊の課題となっていました。現在、設計においては3DCADを使用することで効率化が図られていますが、調達では部品手配のために新たに紙図面の作図が必要となるなど、膨大な作業時間を要していました。また、手配先から見積もりの回答を待つ時間や部品の製作納期といった多くの待ち時間が発生しており、生産性向上を阻害する要因となっていました。社内のある部署では、これらの課題を解決するため、レスポンスの速さに定評のあるiCAD（アイキャド）を使用することで設計を効率化、またiCADと情報連携が可能なmeviyを導入することで、見積もり時の手間を削減、さらに短納期での部品調達に取り組んでいます。

Challenges faced by Abilica and the background on deploying meviy


Since its founding in 1959, Abilica has provided expertise in the design and development of factory
automation (FA) equipment worldwide. In addition to manufacturing equipment, the company covers a
wide range of domains, including plant equipment, automotive, semiconductor, medical equipment, and
elevators. Today, Abilica is also focusing on developing equipment in-house, taking on new initiatives such as developing an equipment to automate the process of decorating sake bottles for the Dassai sake brand.

At Abilica, improving productivity had become an urgent issue due to the diversifying needs caused by
rapid technological innovation in the manufacturing industry. Although they began using 3D CAD in the
design process to improve efficiency, they still had to create paper drawings for parts procurement, which took a lot of their time. In addition, they had to wait for a long time for suppliers to respond with quotes and produce parts, which was an obstacle to improving productivity. To address these issues, a department within Abilica has streamlined its design process using iCAD, known for its fast response times. They also implemented meviy, a system that integrates with iCAD and eliminates the hassle of getting quotes. Now they are even trying to procure parts in less time.

1．From design to parts procurement, everything is done using only 3D data
Getting quotes and procuring parts are now possible using only 3D data, eliminating the need for paper
drawings. The total time from start of design to completion of parts procurement has been reduced by 20%.
2．Data integration with iCAD makes the quoting process seamless

By using meviy and iCAD, Abilica can now collect parts within two weeks from the start of procurement,
then assemble and deliver equipment to customers in three weeks. They can accept orders with short
production lead times that were not possible with the traditional process.
