B Lab、University of Bolognaの研究所”Power to the Pop Research Center”とMOUを締結し、B Lab Bolognaを設置！

B Lab（iUの研究所、所長 石戸奈々子。以下、B Lab）は、2024年5月27日に、イタリアUniversity of Bolognaの研究所Power to the Pop Research CenterとMOUを締結し、Power to the Pop Research Centerを拠点とするB Lab Bolognaを設置しました。マンガ・アニメ・ゲームなどのポップカルチャーに関する国際的な産学チームを構築し、AIやweb3などのテクノロジーとの融合や産業・文化の課題解決を図り、次世代のポップカルチャー文化の形成を目指します。

B Lab Bologna　オーガナイザーよりメッセージ


B Lab BolognaのオーガナイザーにUniversity of BolognaのPaola Scrolavezza教授が就任しました。以下、Scrolavezza教授のメッセージです。

Power to the Pop Research Center（ボローニャ大学現代言語文学文化学部）代表で、B Lab Bolognaのオーガナイザーを務めるパオラ・スクロラヴェッツァです。私たちPower to the Pop Research Centerの目標は、現代のポップカルチャーを比較、異文化間、マルチメディアの観点からアプローチし、現代の想像力の中でその本質的な役割を認識することです。
B Labコミュニティの一員であることを光栄に思うとともに、B Lab Bolognaとして、革新的なアプローチとデジタル技術を駆使し、共同研究や学習・教育プログラムの開発に貢献したいと考えています。私たちは、日本とイタリアのB Labコミュニティの架け橋となり、相互に合意した活動を通して、関係者、民間・公的機関、市民社会の代表者、そしてより広い一般の人々にアプローチすることを目指しています。

B Labの概要


Beyond, Borderless, Breakthroughの頭文字をとった「B Lab」は、研究所と銘打ちながら、世界中の大学・研究所、地域、人材をつなぎ、多くの人の得意技や知見を融合させ、新しい技術、サービス、コンテンツ、ビジネス、社会を生みだす参加型プラットフォームです。テクノロジー開発、社会課題解決、新サービス創出などスコープは広いですが、共通項は社会実装で、みんなでつくるということ。お父さんもお母さんもおばちゃんも子どももみんな研究員。Lifelong Seekerになり、第2の研究員名刺を持ちます。ソーシャルで、オープンで、参加型で、ユーザーふくめ全ての人がつながり新しい社会を構築し、課題、アイディア、技術、おカネ、スキル、人をマッチングさせ、小さな創造から大きな創造までおもしろい未来をみんなでつくることを目指します。

B Lab signs MOU with University of Bologna’s Power to the Pop Research Center and establishes B Lab Bologna!


B Lab (headed by Director Nanako Ishido) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Bologna’s Power to the Pop Research Center in Italy on May 27th, 2024, and established B Lab Bologna, with the Power to the Pop Research Center as its base. The partnership aims to establish an international academic-industrial team focused on pop culture, including manga, anime, and games. The initiative aims to integrate technologies such as AI and web3 to address industrial and cultural challenges and shape the next generation of pop culture.

Message from Professor Paola Scrolavezza, Organizer of B Lab Bologna.

This is Paola Scrolavezza, representing Power to the Pop Research Center (Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures - University of Bologna) and organizer of B Lab Bologna. Our goal at Power to the Pop Research Center is to approach contemporary pop cultures from a comparative, intercultural and multimedia perspective recognizing their essential role within the contemporary imagination.
We are honored to be part of the B Lab community, and as B Lab Bologna we hope to contribute developing collaborative research and learning and teaching programs, using innovative approaches and digital technologies. We aim to be a bridge between the B Lab community in Japan and Italy, and through our mutually-agreed activities reach out stakeholders, private and public institutions, representatives of the civil society, and the broader public.
