[ANAインターコンチネンタル万座ビーチリゾート] 44名乗り新半潜水艦型グラスボート「サブマリンJr．II」 登場

エンターテイメントクルージング運行開始！

ANAインターコンチネンタル万座ビーチリゾート（沖縄県国頭郡、総支配人ビヨン クラージェ、総客室数397）は、2015年7月21日（火）より新造船した44名乗り半潜水艦型グラスボート「サブマリンJr.II」の運行を開始します。



現在、同リゾートで運行している半潜水艦型グラスボート「サブマリンJr.」は、船底にガラスを貼ったグラスボートとは違い、展望室側面にガラスパネルを配置した日本初の半潜水艦型グラスボートとして1988年に就航。グラスボートとして楽しみながら潜水艦体験を生み出すことからJr.（ジュニア）と名付けられました。

27年間にわたり万座ビーチのグラスボートとして親しまれ、活躍して来た「サブマリンJr.」はのべ約100万人のお客様にご利用いただき、運行距離は約50万キロ。地球約12週、直線で地球から月を超える距離を今日まで走り続けてきました。

このたび新たに設計し造船した44名乗り半潜水艦型グラスボートは、「サブマリンJr.II」として登場。従来の「サブマリンJr」同様に展望室の側面から海中、海底を観察できることはもちろん、席数も23席から44席に増設しご宿泊、また沖縄県内外からのお客様のニーズに応えてまいります。グループのお客様にもより利用しやすくなります。今回の「サブマリンJr.II」は、よりリアルに潜水艦を再現するために展望室には潜望鏡、TVモニター、音響、電飾パネル等の設備を設置。海中展望室を実際の潜水艦さながらの雰囲気と体験へと演出いたします。モニターには潜望鏡から見える外の景色をリアルタイムで、水中カメラを通して海中の映像も映し出されます。

同リゾートは正面に万座毛を望むロケーションと、アウトリーフ、インリーフからなる地形を有しグラスボートツアーには最適なポイントとして知られています。ツアーは航路の砂地ポイントから始まり、インリーフポイントには大きな浜サンゴが広がり、その周りに色とりどりの魚を観ることができます。また私どもは10年前からサンゴの再生事業を行っており、再生したサンゴ畑も観ることができます。インリーフを過ぎると万座毛沿いにアウトリーフまでクルージングします。アウトリーフは一機に地形が30m以上まで落ち込むドロップオフと言う地形になっており、いくつものクレパス状の地形にサンゴが生息しています。この万座コーラルポイントには約80種類の魚が生息しており、時にはカツオ等の回遊魚を観ることもできます。帰航時はデッキに上がり、海から万座毛、広がる青い海、万座の地形やホテルをご覧いただけます。誰にでも楽しめる、万座ビーチならではのかけがえのない体験を提供いたします。

ANA InterContinental Manza Beach Resort (Kunigami-gun, Okinawa. General Manager: Bjorn Courage. 397 rooms) will start operating “Submarine Jr. II”, a newly constructed semi-submersible glass boat, on Tuesday 21 July 2015.
In June 1988, existing semi-submersible glass boat “Submarine Jr.” started its long tenure of service. Unlike common glass-bottom boats which have glass floor viewing panels, “Submarine Jr.” was the first semi-submersible observation boat in Japan equipped with underwater glass windows on either sides of the underwater observation room. It creates a submarine experience without ever completely submerging below sea level, hence the reference to “Jr.” After 27 years of loyal service, during which the vessel has carried over 1,000,000 guests and cruised over 500,000km, equivalent to 12 rounds around the Earth and the distance from earth to the moon, it has reached the end of its lifecycle.
Existing “Submarine Jr.” vessel will be replaced by a newly designed and constructed semi-submersible glass boat and named, in honor of its successful predecessor, “Submarine Jr. II”.
Not only has “Submarine Jr. II” observation enlarged observation windows similar to “Submarine Jr.”, but it will also be double its capacity to meet the increased demand from both hotel guests and visitors from across Okinawa. “Submarine Jr. II” will be equipped with a periscope, TV monitors, sound effect systems and decorative illumination panels which turns the underwater observation room into a real submarine ambiance and experience. Observation room TV monitors will show real-time scenes from the outside periscope camera as well as the underwater marine environment.
Manza Beach is renowned for its superb location for glass boat tours thanks to a breathtaking view of Manzamo cape and unique underwater marine in/out-reef features. Cruise tours depart first from a sandy shallow area to an in-reef with lobe coral inhabited by a wide range of tropical fish followed by our coral reef which has been reproduced by our coral reproduction program over the last 10 years, finally our out-reef along legendary Manzamo cape will be visited with an over 30-meter drop-off point where over 80 kinds of fish, including some migratory fish such as bonito, can be observed. In addition guests can go on top of the boat deck and enjoy the scenic view of Manzamo cape, the open ocean, Manza Bay and the resort from a distance. An overall memorable and enjoyable experience for all.

半潜水艦型グラスボートについて
グラスボート（英名：Glass-bottom Boat）は、船底にガラスを貼った海中及び海底観察用のボートです。
当社が開発した「サブマリンJr」は船底ではなく水中部分の展望室の側面にガラスパネルを配置。
このタイプが半潜水艦型グラスボートと呼ばれるようになる。ダイビングやシュノーケリングと異なり、船という快適さの中で水にぬれることなく水中、海底の魚やサンゴ等の水中の世界を楽しむことができます。
