2001年9月11日に発生した米同時多発テロから18年目を迎えた9月11日、アメリカ各地で人々がテロの犠牲者を追悼した。そんななか、当時ニューヨークの世界貿易センタービルの崩壊現場で捜索・救助活動に従事した勇敢な犬たちを紹介するツイッターに多くの人が共感を寄せた。
