2011年には、サンタ・バーバラ・ポロ・クラブ会長ウェズリー・ルー氏の妻クラリサ・ルーさんが米メディア『People.com』のインタビューに応じた際、キャサリン皇太子妃は馬アレルギーを克服するために免疫療法である「エクスポージャー療法（暴露療法）」を試していることを語っていた。
