ソーシャルメディア上に投稿された動画の中には、海外に移住したイラン人たちが英ロンドンなどのイラン大使館の外でライシの死を祝う様子を撮影したとするものもあった。

イラン国内でライシの死を祝って花火を打ち上げている人々を捉えたとする動画も投稿されているが、これは（イスラム教の指導者）故イマーム・レザーの誕生日を祝う様子を撮影した写真の流用だと指摘する声もある。

フーシ派やハマスが相次いで声明発表

ライシの死を悼む声もある。ベイルート在住のジャーナリストであるマルワ・オスマンは、「私たちはアッラーの下に属しており、アッラーの元に戻る」と書き込み、さらにこう続けた。「大アヤトラのアリ・ハメネイ師が率いるイラン国民に、大きな悲しみをもって哀悼の意を表する。イラン国民がこの大きな苦痛に耐えられるよう願っている」
