深センに行ってきた：物を作れる人類が住む街で

　Shanghai Science and Technology Commission が Chinese Makerspace Initiativeを提案したのは2011 年、もう 5 年も前のことだ。「政府が 100 件の上海の "Innovation Houses" に投資し、それぞれの施設が 328 平方フィート以上の面積をもち、旋盤、のこぎり、ドリル、フライス盤その他のツールを整備する。年間 200 日以上は開館し、無料で公共に提供しなければならない」とされていた。

Shanghai Science and Technology Commission proposed the Chinese Makerspace Initiative, where the government would fund the building of 100 "Innovation Houses," each at least roughly 328 square feet and equipped with lathes, saws, drills, milling machines, and other tools. These spaces were to be open at least 200 days a year and be free for the public to use.

By 2012, 45 government-sponsored makerspaces had opened their doors in Shanghai and more were in the works.

　2012 年には 45 件の政府の支援を受けたメーカースペースが上海にオープンし、2016 年現在は 100 を超えている、また数はわからないが深センにもメーカースペースが激増しているとも聞いた。HackerSpaces に登録されている上海の Space はたったの 2 軒、深センの Space はたったの 3 軒なのだが、きっと中国独自の別のディレクトリーがあるのだろう。
