米中首脳会談、具体的関係改善なし

He raised U.S. objections to the PRC’s coercive and increasingly aggressive actions toward Taiwan, which undermine peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and in the broader region, and jeopardize global prosperity.

米側文書の肝はこの台湾部分だ。米国の「一つの中国」政策は「不変」であり、中台による「一方的現状変更に反対」と述べ、バイデン自身の「台湾防衛」不規則発言は今回封印している。しかし、この米側表現がなければ、そもそもこの首脳会談は実現しなかっただろう。いずれにせよ、バイデンは米国側のレッドラインがどこにあるかは明らかにしていない。

これに対し、中国外交部の発表文はもっと素っ気ない。外電によれば概要は次の通りだ。米側文書と比較するため敢えて英語バージョンにする。

「包括的で率直で建設的」 と言っているが、米側文書に「建設的」という形容詞がないのは面白い。
